This KiwiSDR lives at Tall Pines Cabin, a dry cabin (no plumbing) tucked into a red pine forest in northeastern Wisconsin. (@tallpinescabin on Instagram) Recently acquired a fiber internet connection, so now 3 channels are available.
Antenna: 40m / 7mhz (138 ft) 3-sided
horizontal loop at 34 ft (10.3m) AGL. Fed from Palomar Engineers 4:1 Balun w/ 1:1 CMC
combo. There are plans to do a larger loop or add another antenna in the future for
lower bands.
From the antenna, 75 Ft of RG-8X to an
Alpa-Delta GDT, then to a
Paradan antenna disconnect for
lightning, then to a
DX Engineering "Receiver
Guard" (RG5000HD) to protect against front end overloads.
This KiwiSDR2 is GPS disciplined,
and is powered by a linear 5V power supply from Acopian, and uses a TP-Link WR-802N
Wifi bridge to get signals back to the router. I’ve got mix 31 and 43 toroids
on the ethernet connection to try and minimize noise pickup.
When multiple people are listening to the same net/frequency, please use the "Camp" feature to share one channel's audio: http://21040.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/?camp
